The TEST Biofouling project under the MTCC Pacific leverages the achievements of the GEF-UNDP-IMO GloFouling Partnerships and assists developing countries to build their knowledge on the control and management of biofouling, showcasing effective approaches to biofouling management and the mitigation of environmental risks associated with the transfer of Invasive Aquatic Species (IAS) through ship’s biofouling.
The objective of this project was to enhance human capacities and knowledge, engage developing countries in technical demonstration projects showcasing the latest technologies and best practices, to build the necessary confidence and support among developing countries and their maritime stakeholders to progress the implementation of the IMO Biofouling Guidelines.
