The Managing Water Scarcity through Strengthened Water Resources Management project ( or "Water Scarcity project) was developed in close consultation with the eight participating countries of the Cook Islands, Kiribati, the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Tokelau Tonga, and Tuvalu in response to ongoing water scarcity issues experienced by atoll and raised limestone communities in the Pacific.
The project was conceived with a vision to support the development of sustainable and resilient water systems. It aims to address water-related challenges through integrated and community-driven approaches empowering local communities to actively participate in the decision- making process.
