Pacific Incident Management Systems (PacIMS)
This course offers:
A common understanding of terminology across multiple agencies by offering case studies and scenarios outlining the basic principles and concepts of an incident management system in a Pacific context. Knowledge of the humanitarian sector and how it supports the national response arrangements and an understanding of the relationships, roles and responsibilities of those working in this often complex environment.

The Emergency Operations Centre Awareness (EOCA)
This builds knowledge on :

Disaster Risk Management (DRM)
This module provides an overview of disasters in the Pacific and supports an understanding of Pacific Disaster Risk Management Arrangements. This includes guiding principles, risk management frameworks, key stakeholders and key actions across the Disaster Risk Management Continuum.

This module provides an overview of developing, conducting and evaluation disaster preparedness exercises. This includes the use of exercise planning teams and exercise control teams.

This module provides an overview of key concepts including adaptive leadership, using leader's intent, emotional intelligence, managing stress building trust, and strategies for making decisions under pressure.

This module explores how communities access, use and share information about disasters. It includes considerations for effective communication when releasing disaster warnings to the public and the media.

Transition to Recovery
This module identifies what happens in the post response phase to a disaster, including initial relief, then short and longer term recovery. It includes consideration of coordination and a smooth transition to recovery, with appropriate communication with stakeholders, including the community. It also identifies types of recovery assistance.

The Role of Agencies and Clusters in Disaster Risk Management
This module identifies the role of humanitarian and development agencies in disaster risk management (DRM) and the concept of partnership brokering. It also considers the use of Clusters (otherwise known as Sectors in some areas) and considers how the work of Clusters is coordinated.
